Boutique hospitality group GuestHouse will open the doors to its third property in Spring 2023, with the launch of No 42 in Margate.
The hotel will be housed within a Victorian beachfront building and will offer 21 bedrooms, a restaurant, rooftop space and spa. Bookings will open from autumn 2022.
The interiors of No 42 will be inspired by local attractions, including the amusement park Dreamland, which is home to a listed rollercoaster and menagerie cages, and the Shell Grotto, which is a collection of underground rooms and passageways covered in shell mosaics.
A spokesperson said: “GuestHouse’s team will realise interiors which playfully draw from the motifs and seaside character of the town to create a sense of nostalgia through unexpected moments and subtle references that embrace Margate’s quirky and playful nature. Spaces will be warm, inviting, and spirited.”
They said a colour palette of “chalky whites, moody greens and golden yellow tones” will feature across the hotel, “with hints of pink and red and providing a nod to the land and seascapes among which No.42 sits.”
GuestHouse is on an expansion drive, with a fourth site set to open in Brighton in late 2023. It was founded by the three Guest brothers, Tristan, James and Tom, and the current portfolio includes No.15 in Bath and No.1 in York.
