Fully vaccinated UK travellers will no longer have to quarantine upon arrival to Abu Dhabi after the emirate updated its entry guidelines for foreign visitors.
Unvaccinated tourists arriving from outside of its green list for travel – which currently still includes the UK – will still have to quarantine for 10 days upon arrival.
However, under the new guidelines, fully vaccinated tourists from countries not on Abu Dhabi’s green list will be able to visit quarantine free.
Travellers will still be required to show a negative PCR test taken a maximum of 48 hours before departure and will have to take a PCR test at the airport on arrival, as well as further tests on day 4 and day 8.
Unvaccinated tourists from countries on Abu Dhabi’s green list can visit without having to quarantine, provided they show proof of a negative PCR test taken within 48 hours before departure and another on arrival. They will also need to take PCR tests on days six and nine.
The new policies will come into effect from 5 September.
In a bid to further protect tourists and community members, Abu Dhabi implemented a "green pass" system on 20 August, enabling only those fully vaccinated, exempt or under 16 to access key public places and attractions.
