Accessible holidays specialist Limitless Travel has joined Abta in a move founder Angus Drummond said would allow the operator’s customers “to benefit from the reassurance” of the association’s code of conduct.
After being diagnosed with muscular dystrophy aged 22, ex-investment banker Drummond quit his job and travelled the world, founding the Birmingham-based operator in 2015 to help others in the disabled community “travel without limitations”.
Limitless is in the midst of major expansion plans after securing £800,000 worth of investment last summer.
The operator has announced intentions to target consumers in North America and expand its cruise offering, as well as offer more ski holidays and complicated bucket-list itineraries.
A major part of the plan, which Drummond outlined to TTG last year, involves upgrading the company’s technology – including launching an online booking platform allowing customers to guarantee accessible rooms and their other essential needs.
Drummond said: “We feel that Abta’s purpose for helping its members grow their business successfully and sustainably, and to help their customers travel with confidence really strikes a chord with our mission at Limitless Travel to make the world of travel accessible to everyone.”
Danny Waine, Abta’s head of membership, added: “People have confidence and strong trust in the Abta brand, which is one of the huge benefits travel businesses get when joining. All members sign up to a code of conduct and commit to agreed service standards, accurate advertising and fair trading.
“Booking with our members gives travellers peace of mind. We’re delighted to welcome Limitless Travel onboard and I look forward to working with the team there.”
