Air Mauritius will move its London route from Heathrow to Gatwick this winter, and up the five-times-weekly service to daily.
The route will go daily from Sunday 29 October the carrier confirmed late last week. It will operate the route using Airbus A350-900 and Airbus A330-900neo aircraft.
Flights will depart Gatwick at 3.55pm, arriving Mauritius 7.15am (+1). Returns will depart Mauritius at 11.05pm, arriving Gatwick at 7am (+1).
Kresimir Kucko, Air Mauritius chief executive, said: "London has always been a high-priority destination for us and as part of the commemoration of Air Mauritius’ 50 years of operations to the United Kingdom in November 2023, we are proud to announce daily operations to London Gatwick as from 29 October this year.
"This strategic move allows Air Mauritius to meet increasing demand on this historical route while using its most environmentally friendly types of aircraft. We are confident this new service will further strengthen our relationship with valued customers from the UK and the connecting markets."
