American Cruise Lines has started construction on its third Coastal Cat vessel, American Liberty.
First announced in January 2022, the Project Blue series is a set of 12 small ships designed to cover a range of domestic cruise itineraries.
The 105-guest Liberty is built for coastal operation and features a similar hull design to the company’s previously announced Coastal Cat vessels.
The first two ships in the series, American Eagle and American Glory, are scheduled to begin sailing in 2023, with Liberty slated to start operations in May 2024.
American Cruise Lines expects to operate 17 small ships and riverboats across 50 domestic itineraries in 35 states next year.
