The Bahamas has eased its Covid-19 travel restrictions by removing the need for fully vaccinated arrivals to take a pre-departure test and fill out a travel health visa.
However, unvaccinated travellers aged two and above will still be required to show proof of a negative PCR or antigen test taken no more than three days prior to travel.
Travellers will also no longer need to apply for a Bahamas Travel Health Visa in order to enter the country. Both changes go into effect at 12:01am on Sunday (19 June).
Chester Cooper, deputy prime minister and tourism minister, said the Bahamas is adapting to the "continued evolution" of the pandemic.
"We want to streamline the entry process for travellers as much as possible, all while ensuring we are protecting public health," he added.
"We hope the changes to the pre-travel testing requirements combined with the elimination of the Travel Health Visa will reduce friction for travellers and further the recovery of our tourism sector."
