Brit Jonathan Edwards to captain Emerald Azzurra

British-born Edwards will take up the helm when Azzurra launches in January 2022. The line has also appointed Petros Zarpanely as the ship’s hotel director.

Edwards joins Emerald Cruises after nearly 20 years with Holland America Cruise Line. He most recently sailed onboard Scenic Eclipse in Saudi Arabia and the Red Sea.

Zarpanely, who has 25 years’ cruise industry experience under his belt, will be in charge of all hotel services including bars and restaurants, galley, housekeeping, laundry, guest services, shore excursions and onboard entertainment.
