British Airways pilots are pondering strike action after the airline reportedly rejected their requests for a new pay deal.
Balpa’s BA pilot members are understood to be considering a walkout after recent ballots helped secure wage increased for BA check-in staff and baggage handlers.
According to The Telegraph, BA’s pilots could stage industrial action this summer.
The paper said BA chief executive Sean Doyle was warned during a meeting with pilot representatives that "only quantifiable actions" on their demands would be acceptable.
Citing union sources, The Telegraph reports BA’s pilots have been emboldened by the recent successes achieved by the Unite and GMB unions.
A Balpa source quote by The Telegraph said: “They did it by stomping their feet and having a ballot on strike action.
"BA seems to ignore you until you issue a ballot, [that] is the sentiment among members. Within Balpa, we don’t usually like to do that. We would rather take a grown-up approach."
A spokesman for British Airways said: "We remain committed to continuing talks with the union."
