The 2022 Champions League final will now be held in Paris after Russia was stripped of the match following the country’s invasion of Ukraine.
The final of the European football club competition was set to be played at the Gazprom Arena in St Petersburg on 28 May.
But following a meeting on Friday (25 February), the governing body of the tournament, UEFA, reportedly decided it will instead be staged at the Stade de France in Paris.
According to BBC Sport, the body also ordered Russian and Ukrainian clubs and national teams to play their home matches away from the region.
In a statement, Uefa said: "Together with the French government, Uefa will fully support multi-stakeholder efforts to ensure the provision of rescue for football players and their families in Ukraine who face dire human suffering, destruction and displacement."
