Comedian, actor and writer Suzi Ruffell has been confirmed as the host of the 2022 Travel Marketing Awards next month.
The ceremony on Monday 11 July will be the first since the 2020 awards, which were held shortly before the onset of Covid-19 in the UK in March 2020.
The awards celebrate excellence in travel marketing, with a focus on the originality, creativity, innovation and relevancy delivered by brands, teams and individuals now that travel has restarted in earnest.
"This year’s awards will also recognise the extraordinary work carried out by travel marketers during the periods when travel was heavily restricted and budgets were a fraction of what they were, and in some cases non-existent," said organiser, the Chartered Institute of Marketing’s travel group.
Ruffell has appeared on shows including Live At The Apollo, Mock The Week, The Last Leg and Womanhood, and is a regular on several BBC Radio 4 shows – including The News Quiz and The Now Show.
Last year, she was nominated for Outstanding Female Comedy Entertainment Performance at the National Comedy Awards for her hosting duties on Comedy Central’s Yesterday, Today and The Day Before.
In addition to her TV, radio and stand-up work, Ruffell co-hosts the Like Minded Friends podcast with fellow comedian Tom Allen and her own podcast OUT.
The 2022 Travel Marketing Awards ceremony will be held at the St Pancras Renaissance Hotel in London featuring a welcome reception, supper, the awards presentation and networking opportunities.
The 16 categories include accolades celebrating the best use of social media, technology, and video, film or TV, for marketing responsible and sustainable travel, and conducting international campaigns.
There are also categories based on media spend, for travel brand and agency of the year, and extraordinary awards highlighting those who have gone above and beyond in challenging circumstances.
Tickets for the awards are available now from thetravelmarketingawards.com.
