Oceania Cruises has hired Cruise Circle’s head of product Mark Godden as sales manager to support agents in the south of the country.
Godden spent almost seven years with the Bolsover-based OTA before moving to the cruise line this week.
On Monday (13 November), he wrote on LinkedIn: “So excited to be able to share that I started today with Oceania Cruises and will be working to help travel partners across the south of the UK grow their business.
“Lots to learn over the next few weeks, so if you are a travel partner, please bear with me, I’ll be in touch as soon as possible.
“Cannot wait to get started though.”
He also hailed his former Cruise Circle colleagues last week, posting: “I couldn’t have worked with a better group of people that have pulled together during the worst of times, particularly over the last few years.
“I’ve been privileged to have had the opportunity to travel, see countless ships and have huge amounts of fun whilst getting some work done too.
“Massive thanks to my colleagues. Will miss you all and can’t wait to see the future successes that I know are on their way.”
Jason Worth, Oceania Cruises’ vice-president international sales, revealed in September that the line wanted to grow its UK agent database after the region became Oceania’s number one international market.
He told TTG: “There are thousands of agents in the UK and while we won’t work with all of them, there’s a subset that fits well with our product.”
