Cunard will return to South America in 2025 following a five-year pandemic-induced hiatus, the cruise line announced on Tuesday (14 March).
Queen Victoria will depart Southampton on a 78-night round trip on 9 January 2025, featuring calls in Brazil, Chile and Argentina. Guests will be able to enjoy additional benefits, including a gala event, a concierge service and use of a private lounge.
“Not only will guests have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the continent’s unique combination of history, culture, and natural beauty, they will also experience 78 nights of our iconic White Star service and unrivalled onboard entertainment programme,” said Cunard’s UK sales director Tom Mahoney.
Passengers will also be able to participate in tailor-made experiences, such as venturing into Brazil’s Tijuca rainforest or visiting Argentina’s colonies of Magellanic penguins at Punta Tombo.
Mahoney said Cunard had upped its focus on experiences after finding it ranks above all other factors when it comes to guests choosing their holiday.
"More than two-thirds of guests that we recently surveyed told us their holiday decision-making is becoming more experience-led,” he said.
“With departures from Port Everglades in Florida, Rio de Janeiro in Brazil and San Antonio in Chile, there are incredible opportunities to match Cunard’s sailings with unforgettable land-based experiences.”
Bookings for the 78-night South America round trip from Southampton lead in from £13,499.
