Cunard is rolling out the most popular features of new ship Queen Anne across the fleet, with some due to debut on Queen Elizabeth next year.
The move coincides with the older ship’s refit in February, but Cunard chiefs were tight-lipped regarding details, which are due to be released in December.
Brand and product vice-president Lee Powell said since Queen Anne was named in Liverpool in June, the line wanted to capitalise on areas winning the most plaudits from guests.
The Bright Lights Society entertainment venue and new Japanese restaurant Aji Wa are among those that have proved particularly popular.
“A new ship gives us a canvas to create new experiences,” Powell explained. “As we move through the refurbishment of our ships, we can see what we can to bring to Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth.”
Cunard has already enhanced steak menus across its fleet following the success of Sir Samuel’s, the new speciality steakhouse on Queen Anne that has also been a hit with guests.
A similar move is planned for the menus of the ship’s Golden Lion pub, which were designed by two Michelin-starred chef Michel Roux who added a new twist to classic pub staples such as fish and chips. These menus are being launched across the fleet next week.
The line is also building on its chef residency programme, having just announced a tie-up with Michelin-starred chef Nathan Outlaw, who will bring his Port Isaac restaurant Outlaw’s Fish Kitchen to four Mediterranean sailings on Queen Victoria next year.
Cunard’s first chef residency signing was Michel Roux for Le Gavroche at Sea, but the line has a list of potential chefs that it hopes to work with and more signing announcements are expected in 2025. The remit is also due to be widened to cover beverages and entertainment.
“You’re going to be seeing a lot more of this,” promised Powell.
