Scotland’s two main airports are poised to gain new budget flight options to Turkey over the coming year.
Pegasus Airlines will launch Edinburgh-Istanbul flights this summer. It will operate the route twice a week on Thursdays and Sundays to Istanbul’s Sabiha Gokcen airport.
One-way fares lead in from £49.99pp and are available to book now, with flights getting under way form 27 June. Services will depart Edinburgh at 3.30pm and will be operated by Airbus A320 and A321neo aircraft.
Pegasus’s network extends to 137 destinations; 35 in Turkey and 102 international.
SunExpress, meanwhile, will land at Glasgow airport next summer, flying four times a week to Antalya and twice a week to Dalaman from April 2025.
The airline, a Lufthansa-Turkish Airlines joint venture, is a new arrival at Glasgow and will put on around an extra 1,200 seats a week.
TTG last month caught up with SunExpress chief Max Kownatzki and found out why the airline, after more than 30 years, is ready to make its mark in the UK market.
