British holidaymakers who have not had a Covid-19 booster jab may be banned from travelling to European Union countries, according to reports in the national press.
The EU is expected to detail new travel rules based on vaccination status rather than country of origin, after its health agency reportedly recommended boosters for all.
According to i, the proposal will give guidance on how long vaccinations should remain valid, with some member states, such as Austria, already setting an expiration date on vaccine certificates.
Tourists travelling to the EU could reportedly be required to show proof of their booster as early as Easter next year.
However, a valid negative test uploaded onto the Covid pass will still offer a second pillar for travellers who had their second jab more than six months earlier.
According to reports, no decision has yet been made on how soon the Covid pass would expire after the second vaccine.
