Eurostar has confirmed a shake-up in its fare structure from November, which it says will bring flexibility to all travel classes.
From 4 November, Standard, Standard Premier and Business Premier classes on cross-channel routes and Standard, Comfort and Premium classes on continental routes will be replaced by three new travel classes.
Eurostar Standard will be the basic flexible fare, with light refreshments and drinks available to purchase from the buffet.
Eurostar Plus will offer similar flexibility, more comfortable seating, more workspace,a light meal and on-board drinks service on cross-channel routes.
Eurostar Premier includes extra flexibility, an all-day boarding guarantee, lounge access, a premium food experience and a dedicated priority lane on cross-channel routes.
Passengers in Eurostar Standard and Eurostar Plus can exchange tickets without any exchange fee and as many times as needed until just one hour before departure. A refund will be available until seven days before departure for a €25/£25pp and per leg fee. Exchanges are free but the difference in fare must be paid if the new fare is more expensive.
Customers in Eurostar Premier can exchange or refund tickets without any fee up to two days after their departure. The revised fares are on sale now, with the new aftersales policy now in force. Changes and refunds can be made directly via the Eurostar app.
Matthieu Quyollet, Eurostar’s chief business development and integration officer, said: “Eurostar is setting new standards for international travel by providing the greatest flexibility, clarity and comfort to customers looking to enjoy Europe in the most sustainable way.
“The new aftersales policy across all of Eurostar’s travel classes means that all customers can now take advantage of more flexibility and choice than ever before and enjoy a unique travel experience for their summer holiday or autumn break.”
