Former head of membership, sales and business development for The Global Travel Group, Darren Bond, has launched a bespoke marketing business to help support travel agents impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Bond, who was made redundant from his role with the consortia when it was sold by Dnata to The Travel Network Group (TTNG), began helping agents with various marketing, promotion and advertising queries as a favour while he was in-between jobs.
He created free videos for agents to help promote their businesses and highlight joint supplier events.
After 170 agents requested videos when Bond posted his work on social media, he decided to launch Bounce Back Media.
Since going live at the end of October, he has worked with around 30 members of the trade, including a number of TTG Top 50 agents, on video projects aimed at recruitment campaigns and product promotion.
Bespoke videos cost £99 and over-brand videos, which include themes such as winter sports, safari, cruise, luxury and a range of destinations, are £19 each.
Bond said video is "rapidly becoming the most important form of marketing" and the "best way to liven up your social media pages and website content".
"We create low-cost video that is either ready-made to over-brand or bespoke campaign videos that would normally cost a lot more to produce," he added.
"We have content that promotes an agent’s help and support with confusion over travel restrictions and destination or sector specific content at a really low price."
Bond said he would like to see Bounce Back Media grow to become the "go-to place" for video content for travel agents.
"There’s not really been a supplier of ready-made or bespoke video available in the past, due to complications over licensing and copyright issues, but we have sourced content that specifically allows it to be purchased by our customers and shared on social media," he added.
As well as video content, Bounce Back Media also offers door graphics, logos, branded social media assets and other marketing tools.
Bond said the travel trade is of "huge importance" at the moment, as people "need to travel" for business, pleasure and personal reasons.
"The more that we can do to promote the services of travel agents, especially in a time of uncertainty, and help to develop confidence in trusting the experts with their holiday and travel arrangements, the better," he added.
