Gold Medal has launched a new trade website with a raft of new and upgraded features, including technology training, service and marketing hubs, and greater post-booking support.
Chief among the additional functionality, though, is the ability for agents to edit their commission at the quote stage before confirming a booking. A long-standing request from trade partners, the feature is available on any individual components such as a flight or hotel-only booking, as well on packages.
“When asking agents for their thoughts on what improvements we could make to the website, the ability to edit commission came through strongly on multiple occasions," said Gold Medal digital product director Jamie Greystock.
"We have implemented this now successfully and it is a really simple step for agents to follow. I would encourage anyone who hasn’t already, to give it a go on their next online booking at goldmedal.co.uk.”
Gold Medal debuted the new portal, which it has called Digital Discovery, on Tuesday (27 June). “The website now has the functions to support agents in creating the absolute best holidays for their customers wanting to book with Gold Medal, and offers an abundance of content and helpful tips for agents to follow," said Greystock.
Other features include training videos for agents as well as a dedicated area for post-booking support, where agents can get access to service teams as well as links to the latest travel advice and airline information.
The marketing hub, Gold Medal said, also offers agents “everything they need to market their business and inspire travel,” including mini brochures and social content.
“The main goal was, and continues to be, is to create an agent website, with agents,” Greystock added. “With their guidance, requests, and insight, we will continue to build a functional tool that meets their needs.”
