More than half of Travel Network Group (TTNG) agents are already using the consortium’s new online training resources, launched earlier this year.
The group – which represents more than 1,200 independent travel businesses in the UK – created the Online Training Academy as part of its Business Development Action Plan, to help members attract new customers, retain repeat customers, and better manage the main touch points during the booking journey.
It was launched in March and the group on Monday (4 July) said more than half of agents have used the training modules as a development scheme for existing teams so far, with many travel businesses saying the Academy also acts as a useful training pack for new starters.
The online course is accessed via TTNG’s training platform The Hub, and includes 20 structured modules created in collaboration with tourist boards and business partners covering business skills such as social media, local marketing, email marketing and data, and online SEO.
The Travel Network Group’s CEO Gary Lewis, said: “We’re thrilled to see that our Online Training Academy has been so well received by our members and their teams. Our courses are made to be accessible at all times, with over 35% of members accessing the modules through their mobiles and 22% by tablet, allowing teams to gain knowledge whether they’re at home, on their lunch break, or out and about at work.
“Over the coming months we’re looking forward to growing our portfolio of content even further, with the aim of supporting our members to upskill their teams with vital knowledge to help repair and revitalise the travel industry,” he added.
