Jet2 is set to invest heavily in the development of Morocco’s tourism industry over the next five years.
Signed at WTM on Tuesday (7 November), the partnership will help Morocco reach its target of 26 million tourists per year by 2030.
As part of the agreement, Jet2.com and Jet2holidays will work alongside the Moroccan National Tourism Office (MNTO) to promote all the country has to offer through an online and offline marketing campaign, reviewing their ongoing partnership with regular meetings.
“We are investing directly in the development of tourism in Morocco through this agreement, and we are fully committed to working with our partners at the MNTO to ensure that holidaymakers and travel professionals know all about the huge variety of things to do in this amazing country,” said Jet2.com and Jet2holidays chief executive Steve Heapy.
Meanwhile, MNTO chief executive Adel El Fakir said the agreement will help the country achieve its objectives “through diversified programming and a 17 direct air connections per week offer from several British hubs”.
The announcement comes as the airline and tour operator announced on 18 October it was adding Agadir and Marrakech to its 2024/2025 programme following an increase in travel demand.
From October 2024, the companies will operate up to 17 weekly flights – and 180,000 seats – from six UK airports, with the possibility of going up to 28 services per week.
Jet2.com will offer flights to Marrakech from Birmingham, Glasgow, Manchester and Stansted while services to Agadir will depart from Bristol, Leeds Bradford, Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow and Stansted.
