Jet2holidays has tightened its booking terms and conditions as the industry exits the pandemic.
The operator said current terms and conditions policies were subject to “abuse”.
Standard amendment fees now start from £50pp, excluding date-of-birth changes, which remain at £10. The £50 rate is an increase of £10.
Fees inside the 28-day window start from £75pp, with any cancellation charges from the accommodation provider on top of this.
The operator said the move was to “reduce the high volume of amendments for our travel agent partners and the high rate of cancellations currently affecting the industry” and to support hotel partners by reducing the number of cancellations inside 28 days.
It added: “We are always listening to our agency partners, and they have made us aware that some of the conditions introduced during the pandemic are not as relevant today, thanks to the welcome return of international travel.
“In line with that feedback, we have made some changes to our terms and conditions to support agency partners in this positive climate, for instance by reducing amendments and cancellations. Since communicating this update to our agency partners, the feedback we have received has been overwhelmingly positive.”
