With the easing of travel restrictions and flights finally allowed to take off from the UK to the US again, a new dawn for travel beckons. So how is the travel industry preparing to make the most of this opportunity? And how far has the easing of travel restrictions eased consumer concerns around travel?
These are the questions which the latest Agenda 2021 seminar will be addressing as we explore a new dawn for the UK travel industry.
Taking place on the afternoon of 21 October at 2pm, the latest half-day seminar for TTG+ members will once again see TTG Media partnering with PwC to produce exclusive research into consumer – and trade – attitudes.
The afternoon will begin with a presentation of these findings by David Trunkfield, Hospitality and Leisure Leader, PwC UK exploring whether bookings are bouncing back and if half-term could be the saviour many in the industry are hoping for?
The session will be followed by a panel discussion with agents and operators including Miles Morgan, managing director, Miles Morgan Travel, Phil Gardner, chief commercial officer, Thomas Cook and Edwina Lonsdale, managing director, Mundy Cruising who will dissect the easing of travel restrictions and what it means for their businesses. Has the change in rules removed customer uncertainty? Is the travel industry finally back on track? What will it mean for peaks this year? And when can we expect to see booking levels return to the heady heights of 2019?
After a short break, the seminar will move on to the subject of sustainability and regenerative travel with industry leaders such as Garry Wilson, chief executive, easyJet Holidays; Kasia Morgan, chief sustainability officer, Exodus; Karen Simmonds, founder, Travel Matters and Nico Nicholas, CEO, Trees4Travel.
The seminar will then conclude with a big interview.
“This is a must attend for anyone wanting to understand the lay of the land and what the consumer intent and appetite for travel is as the sector begins to open back up and customers plan their half-term breaks, winter getaways and summer 2022 holidays,” said Sophie Griffiths, editor, TTG.
“Since we introduced TTG+ last year we have committed to bringing our growing community of members unrivalled industry-leading content. We’re proud to continue this with the latest Agenda 2021 seminar.”
