Ambassador Cruise Line has appointed Karen Cameron as its new divisional sales manager to oversee agent partnerships in the north of England, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Cameron brings almost 30 years of industry experience to the job having held positions at Stewart Travel, Barrhead Travel, Thomas Cook and regional manager roles with P&O Cruises, Cunard and Princess Cruises.
She was mostly recently regional head of experience at Haven and will join Ambassador on Wednesday (1 February) reporting into head of distribution Nicola Harper.
Cameron will be tasked with fostering existing agent relationships in the region and growing new partnerships. She will work alongside Louise Tansey, who was recently recruited as Ambassador’s divisional sales manager for the south of England and Wales.
Ambassador, which last week claimed a surge in booking revenue of 341% year-on-year for the first two weeks of January, is looking to recruit further members to its trade support team, confirming additional hires would be announced “in the coming weeks”.
Harper said: “With a great reputation in the trade, Karen has considerable leadership experience and deep knowledge and insight of the UK holiday market, which will only benefit the brand as we look to showcase our premium value product to our valued agent and trade partners.”
Cameron added: “It’s an exciting time in the company’s journey, and I can’t wait to get onboard with the team in Purfleet while working with our key contacts across the north in my new role. I’m really looking forward to providing them with all the support and tools they need as Ambassador continues to provide exceptional levels of service to agents and trade partners.”
