Homeworking group Club Voyages has recruited former Tui retail manager and Hays Travel store manager Kelly Green as the business’s head of retail.
Green started her career in travel in 2015, and latterly served as business development manager with the Hays Travel Independence Group (IG), of which Club Voyages is a member, for its central region.
She will take up her new role on 2 January 2024, working alongside Club Voyages managing director, former travel trade journalist Sam Ballard, who launched the cruise-focused homeworking agency last year.
Ballard told TTG earlier this year upon the brand’s first anniversary he hoped the business would in time become the "go-to name" for luxury cruise sales after a concerted effort to reposition itself in the market.
In her role as head of retail, Green will work with the group’s growing roster of travel consultants to optimise sales performance, ensure training needs are met, and that consultants have the sales, marketing and campaign resources they need to sell effectively.
Besides leading the homeworking team, Green will work with Ballard to recruit new talent as the company grows.
“I’m thrilled to be joining Club Voyages at what is a particularly exciting time for the business," said Green. "I’ve worked with Sam right from the beginning and strongly believe I can help him and his great team of travel consultants take it to the next level.”
Ballard added: “It’s hard to underestimate what a great hire Kelly is for us. She knows the Club Voyages brand very well and has been a very supportive partner since we became part of Hays IG.
"She brings tremendous energy and knowledge both of the travel industry in general, but also of the Club Voyages team and our commitment to delivering bespoke holidays for the curious traveller with high-touch service.
"I can’t wait to start working with her as we enter what we anticipate will be a busy peaks period and our second year.”
Her appointment comes as Club Voyages rounds off its first full year as a luxury-focused agency after transitioning away from its original incarnation as a cruise OTA, something Ballard described to TTG in September as a "course correction".
It has gone on to double its profits and its homeworker headcount over the past year.
