Kuoni adds new Indian Ocean resorts to 2023 collection
Will PayneKuoni has added a new collection of Indian Ocean resorts to its 2023 programme.
The Maldives, Mauritius, the Seychelles and Sri Lanka all feature in the latest addition, and while the Maldives retains its position as the brand’s top honeymoon destination, Kuoni has seen an increase in families, groups of friends and people travelling alone post-pandemic.
The company has added three new resorts to its Maldives offering, including new property The Standard, which offers transparent dancefloors and glitterballs, as well as a programme of activities and experiences designed for couples, groups of friends and families.
It also offers 115 water and beachside villas, daily yoga classes, snorkelling on the surrounding house reef, boat trips and diving.
Elsewhere, the island of Makunudu features 36 beachfront bungalows designed in traditional style aimed at single travellers, divers and couples who want a "simpler type" of holiday.
The third addition in the Maldives is the Emerald Faarufushi Resort and spa, a five-star accommodation due to open later this year.
Kuoni has also added the all-inclusive Lux Grand Baie in Mauritius, which features 116 suites, resort villas, residences and penthouses with private pools and rooftop bars.
Elsewhere, STORY Seychelles and Raffles Seychelles have been added to the brand’s Seychelles product. STORY on Mahe Island is a boutique location next to a beach, safe for swimming year-round with a coral reef.
Raffles, meanwhile, is new to the Kuoni collection, with a personalised experience for children with mini bathrobes, umbrellas and aprons for cooking classes – "perfect for high-end family holidays," the company said.
Sri Lanka, which has recently been put back on sale following the lifting of FCDO advice, is one of Kuoni’s most requested destinations. The brand has added the Aliya Resort and Spa, which is a "good family option" for those in the Sigiriya area of the cultural triangle.
La Reunion, often twinned with Mauritius, also sees the addition of the boutique hotel Ness by D-Ocean.
