Latin Routes reveals details of two agent fams

The educationals, for 20 agents, will take place in October. The first itinerary, co-sponsored by TAP Portugal, will see agents discover Brazil; including Rio de Janeiro, Iguazu Falls, the Amazon Rainforest and the beaches of Buzios.

The second trip, backed by Aerolineas Argentinas, will take consultants to the Patagonia region of Argentina where they will experience Buenos Aires, Bariloche and El Calafate.

News of the trips was revealed at the last of the South America specialist’s travel agent road shows in London.

Ten spaces will be available on each fam, with the chance to secure a position through a competition the company will run later this year.

Jess Bain, Latin Routes co-founder and head of trade relations, explained the need to take agents on fams.

“We really understand the value of taking travel agents to South America. So many have never been and they find it difficult to sell. Letting agents experience the destination first-hand allows them to understand the product and make them more passionate about it.

“We saw that last year when we took a fam to Argentina and Brazil, and this year we wanted to up our game and give that opportunity to as many people as possible.”
