MSC Cruises has revealed the full range of experiences that will be available at its long-awaited Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve in the Bahamas.
Ocean Cay will open to arrivals this November, offering deep-sea fishing, rum retreats, snorkelling, stand-up paddle-boarding and kayaking, among other activities.
The island will hold regular “lighthouse light shows”, transport via an electric tram, and will host traditional Bahamian Junkanoo parades at sunset.
Guests will have eight beaches to choose from, each offering different activities.
Starting November, four MSC ships will call at Ocean Cay: Armonia, Divina, Meraviglia and Seaside.
The island’s deep-sea “catch, tag and release” fishing experience will teach guests about regional fish and allow them to report specific information on their catch.
MSC’s Rum Rendezvous, meanwhile, starts with a scenic boat trip to a Bahama bank where guests will enjoy the shallows with rum punch, live music and dancing.
Luxury electric pedalos will also be available for rent, while MSC will offer “glow” night-time stand-up paddle-boarding, with each board lit up by LED lights.
For families, there is the Ocean Cay Family Club, Bahama Bank Escape family tour and a stargazing experience.
And for couples, Ocean Cay will cater for honeymooners with its stingray adventure and sunset beach picnic.
