MSC Cruises has revealed it will base MSC Opera in the Canary Islands for the 2024/25 winter season where it will sail a series of seven-night itineraries in lieu of its planned deployment in the Red Sea.
Sales are open for the new cruises, which will operate from 3 November 2024 to 16 March 2025 and take in six ports of call – Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Puerto del Rosario, Funchal, Santa Cruz de la Palma and Arrecife.
The line is also offering flexible embarkation options, with cruises calling in Tenerife on Sundays, Gran Canaria on Mondays, Madeira on Thursdays or Fridays, and Lanzarote on Saturdays.
Stops will last for up to 16 hours, giving guests time to explore each port of call.
MSC confirmed the new programme replaced MSC Opera’s previously planned winter 2024/25 programme Red Sea, which has been cancelled "in light of the current risk to shipping" in the region owing to tensions in the Middle East.
