P&O Cruises and Cunard will amend their Baltic cruise itineraries in response to growing conflict in the region following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
In a statement released this morning (28 February), the lines said they will advise guests of the changes "as soon as possible".
"In light of the current situation with Russia and Ukraine, we will be amending itineraries on Baltic cruises," they added.
"Our top priority is compliance, environmental protection and the health, safety and well-being of our guests, crew members, shoreside employees and the people in the places we touch and we will advise guests of the changes as soon as possible."
It comes as parent company Carnival Corp announced on Saturday (26 February) it will be modifying its brands’ itineraries in the coming week in light of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
The full details of the amendments will be shared once alternative ports of call are confirmed.
In a statement, the company said: "In light of the recent attacks by Russia in Ukraine, Carnival Corporation brands will be modifying our itineraries in the coming week once alternative ports can be confirmed. We stand for peace."
The move comes after Viking cancelled all of its 2022 Kyiv and Black Sea departures, and confirmed it was evaluating all 2022 itineraries featuring calls in Russia.
Other cruise lines voiced concern over the escalating conflict, including Riviera Travel, which said it was monitoring the situation and would provide updates in due course.
A Saga spokesperson confirmed the brand rerouted a Black Sea cruise which had been due to call in Ukraine.
