Scenic Group is set to launch a sales blitz across the UK to celebrate the release of its new documentary, Maritime Masters: Expedition Antarctica.
The luxury line has revealed to TTG that its sales managers will hit the road to visit agents with marketing toolkits such as window posters and flyers, as well as website banners and images.
The blitz will start on 30 May and last until 11 June, in time for the week in the run-up to and following the first episode, which will air in the UK on 4 June.
Produced by Warner Bros and released by Discovery+, the five-episode docu-series centres on Scenic Eclipse’s trip from San Diego to Antarctica, focusing on the lives of captain Erwan Le Rouzic, food and beverage director Tom Goetter and expedition operations manager Jason Flesher.
To celebrate the season’s launch, Scenic Group will also offer a live training webinar on Maritime Masters and the destinations Scenic Eclipse I and II will visit.
According to trade sales chief Andrea Stafford, watching the documentary and being trained on it will help agents sell packages better.
“I think the docu-series will really bring that to life,” Stafford has told TTG. “And I certainly think that for our trade partners, it will get their phones ringing and it will really spike that interest.”
Agents will also have the possibility to come onboard Scenic Eclipse II, which is coming to the UK in early June.
“That’s going to be great because we’re going to have agents coming onboard, partners coming onboard and she’ll go to some really interesting ports, particularly up in Scotland,” added Stafford.
