Airport transfer firm Suntransfers has recruited two experienced sales heads to spearhead its B2B expansion.
Suntransfers brought in Andy Baker to launch the Barcelona-based business to the trade shortly before the pandemic. B2B now constitutes almost a quarter of the firm’s sales less than four years later.
The brand is now targeting further B2B growth with the appointment of Keeley Leck and Amedeo Rizzi as head of sales for northern Europe and southern Europe, respectively.
Leck joins from Spanish bed bank Smyrooms where she oversaw sales for the UK, Ireland and Nordics. She brings 20-plus years of travel industry experience to the role, spanning companies including HolidayTaxis, Youtravel and Medhotels.
Rizzi, meanwhile, joins from attraction ticket platform Go City. His near 20-year career has seen him hold various business development, operations and sales management roles, including with tour operator Axis & Globe Travel.
Baker said he was confident the pair would make an immediate impact, adding their experience would be "invaluable" in growing Suntransfers’ B2B operation "throughout the UK and Europe". He said they would also be the first of "several key appointments" over the coming months, building on the firm’s record start to the year.
"They’re joining at a pivotal, and positive, point in the company’s development," said Baker. "Not only are bookings reaching pre-pandemic levels, but we are also seeing a return to growth driven by a concerted focus over recent years on enhancing our B2B platform.
"While the past few years have been challenging for Suntransfers, as they have for the travel industry in general, we made good of the enforced downtime to refine and expand our proposition for B2B clients, for example, by expanding connectivity with key strategic API partners and plugging the Suntransfers product into several additional holiday booking websites and travel agency systems.
"Our commitment to providing accessible and competitively priced transfers for the travel trade is paying off as B2B already represents over 25% of sales, a figure we are confident will continue to grow."
