Travel Counsellors has reported a bounceback in business travel bookings as sales near pre-pandemic levels.
The homeworking firm claimed a 92% increase in corporate sales in February compared to the same time in 2019, while sales of business trips in January and February hit a combined total of £18 million, 82% of 2019 sales.
The agency said 90% of all corporate-specialist agents made a new booking last month, totalling 1,860 bookings.
Almost 89% of bookings were made for imminent departures in February and March, and the most popular destinations were France, Germany and Italy, replacing the UK and US, which were the top-selling corporate travel destinations in January.
Kieran Hartwell, managing director of corporate travel at Travel Counsellors, said it was "hugely encouraging" to see the uptick in corporate bookings.
"We are increasingly seeing small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) looking for that human expertise on travelling in a post-pandemic world, and we’re delighted they are coming to us for that trusted travel advice, as SMEs is one of our biggest sectors of expertise," Hartwell added.
