As temp jobs go, this sounds a good one: spend two weeks testing out potential new destinations for a tour operator.
InsideAsia Tours is searching for three people to travel to South Korea, China, Malaysia and Borneo – four destinations it plans to launch in late 2020.
The lucky applicants will be given the job of embarking on a free two-week adventure to one of these countries – with companion - to experience a range of cultural activities and physical challenges.
There is a downside; you won’t be paid or given a long-term contract, but you will have a say in designing the itinerary.
Among the proposed highlights are meditating with monks deep in Songnisan national park in South Korea, trekking through Borneo’s rainforest to the Maliau Falls, or perhaps supping local brew in the foothills of the Huangshan mountain range in eastern China.
Accommodation will range from five-star luxury in Shanghai, daily life in a traditional Hanok House in Jeonju or a stay in a lodge on the edge of Borneo rainforest. Testers will see some of the famous sights alongside cultural experts, and meet with local insiders to sample more off-the-radar spots.
In return, employees will need to provide InsideAsia with travelling tales, photographs, video and plenty of feedback on the best and worst bits of their trip, plus what needs to be improved for future fellow intrepid explorers.
InsideAsia Tours will launch the new destinations as part of its 20th anniversary celebrations in late October this year.
