Tui’s focus on retail parks, shopping centres and other edge-of-town retail locations has continued with the latest addition to its store network.
Bournemouth’s Castlepoint shopping centre has been selected as the home for Tui’s newest branch, complementing its existing shop in the town’s Winton neighbourhood.
Like its new store in Leeds’ Springs shopping centre, which opened late last month, Tui Bournemouth Castlepoint is situated just off a major route into the town, the A338.
The store features customer booths, an advice bar and a coffee machine, as well as a foreign exchange counter, and has seen foot traffic "soar", Tui claims, in the days following its opening last week.
Regional sales manager Jaime Vaughan said the new Bournemouth team booked more than 150 customers during the store’s first week trading.
"We’ve loved welcoming customers into the modern and spacious space, it’s got a lovely, warm atmosphere," said Vaughan.
“In our first week of opening, we booked holidays for more than 170 passengers and the feedback we have had about the store has been fantastic. Customers have said they feel like they are on holiday the moment they walk in."
Vaughan said Turkey was proving an early hit with Castlepoint customers, with demand too for Majorca and Marella Cruises, adding the team’s particular expertise spanned cruise, Europe, the Caribbean, the US and Asia.
Bournemouth Castlepoint becomes Tui’s 327th store. It will open from 9.30am to 6pm Monday to Friday, and from 10.30am to 4.30pm on Sundays.
