Tui Group has launched a new accommodation-only platform in the UK offering consumers the ability to tailor-make trips and choose from more than 12,000 hotels.
The platform, which Tui is aiming to grow to more than 30,000 hotels by the end of the year, was first launched in Sweden in December 2022 and rolled out to other Nordic markets within the last six months before coming to the UK.
Tui said the service would act as an “important driver for dynamic packaging” allowing customers to book hotel stays without flights, while also enabling more cross-selling of other Tui holiday elements, such as cruises and tours.
The platform will be “continuously updated and tested”, with new destinations and hotels added in future, with Tui adding how the system would help the travel giant “stay relevant” by offering “a modern way of booking holidays”.
Andrew Flintham Tui UK and Ireland managing director, said the platform would act as “another important development” as the company looked to the future, adding: “We understand booking a holiday is no longer about booking seven or 14-nights away, it’s about making your holiday fit in with your lifestyle and available time off.”
“We are hopeful that by giving customers an amazing range of hotels, along with amazing Tui customer service, that they will then stay with Tui to book, flight options, in destination experiences and car rental. Further highlighting our shift from a traditional holiday tour operator to a global leisure company.”
