Tui has signed a deal with Ryanair to sell more than one million packages using the no-frills carrier’s flights.
The operator will make the Ryanair inventory available in agencies and online.
“With this cooperation, Tui is significantly expanding the variety and frequency of its flight offerings, particularly in the UK,” said Tui. “Travellers will benefit from even more destinations and greater flexibility, with millions of new combination options.”
The deal is Ryanair’s latest package tie-up, following deals with OTAs including loveholidays.
Tui said: “All Ryanair flights will soon be bookable directly with Tui and can be combined with the travel company’s full offering.”
It added Tui customers could take advantage of Ryanair’s extensive network of city and short break destinations.
“There is new potential, especially for destinations that are not yet seamlessly connected. This means that Tui will provide individual travellers with even more attractive options for city breaks and short trips in the future.”
Tui said the deal would “particularly benefit the First Choice brand”, which re-launched last September.
“The additional volume and flexibility of flights will make it significantly more attractive to the new younger generation of travellers,” it said.
“The First Choice proposition offers a range of trips from five-star resorts, hotels to hostels, premium and low-cost airlines, as well as interesting and unique experiences.”
Tui’s agreement with Ryanair is part of an effort to increase dynamic packaging sales, which comprise 2.5 million of its total 19 million passengers.
Peter Kruger, Tui Group chief strategy officer & chief executive officer holiday experiences, said: “The cooperation with Ryanair will now further expand the range of dynamically packaged Tui holidays and at the same time achieve a further milestone in digitalization.
“We are consistently implementing our transformation into a year-round provider of travel and experiences.
“The strategy for our tour operators is clear: we want to continue to grow profitably – with our own exclusive brands and products as well as with an even broader and more individualised offering.
“In the UK in particular, our guests will be able to choose from an even wider range of flights in future – and in addition to a strong programme with Tui Airline’s own flights.”
Ryanair said the partnership had been sealed “on condition that they do not overcharge customers for Ryanair products”.
It added: “Tui customers will now not only benefit from Tui displaying Ryanair’s real low prices, without hidden mark-ups and providing correct customer contact and payment details to Ryanair, but will continue to benefit from flexible payment plans and Atol protection and will no longer need to complete Ryanair’s customer verification process which unauthorised OTA pirates’ customers must continue to do.”
Tui is Ryanair’s third approved package partner, following deals with loveholidays and Kiwi.
