New research conducted by disabled-friendly operator Limitless Travel has claimed that the "vast majority" of disabled British travellers are looking forward to travel again.
Around 172 out of 200 respondents (86%) to the survey said they are "keen to get back to travelling", but more than half (57%) confirmed they will wait until 2022 for overseas trips.
Almost all respondents (98%) have had at least one Covid-19 jab and 84% reported that once vaccinated they felt more interested in travelling again. More than two thirds (69%) said they usually go on one or two holidays a year.
According to Limitless Travel, prior to the pandemic, it was estimated that a third of people with disabilities living in the UK never went on holiday due to the perceived stresses and worries about travel.
Speaking about the new research, Limitless chief and founder Angus Drummond said the company has already taken away more than double the amount of people in 2021 than it did in 2019 and reported a record level of sales so far this year.
"The appetite for travel is certainly out there," he added. "For the disabled community, even before Covid, there was a great deal of stress and anxiety associated around holidays and travel, with people worrying that there wouldn’t be the facilities or specialist care that they needed on a trip.
"And that’s exactly why we set up Limitless Travel, to take away those stresses and worries and to make it possible for everyone to have a great, rewarding holiday."
