Valencia has been announced as the headline sponsor of this year’s TTG LGBT Conference, which takes place on July 4 at Tropicana Beach Club in London.
The Spanish city describes itself as a “friendly and open-minded” destination “where everybody is made to feel welcome, whatever their age, nationality or sexuality”.
The city, on the Mediterranean in the south-east of Spain, has been embracing the LGBT community, and the tourist board said it has a “thriving LGBT scene, with many bars and clubs proudly displaying the rainbow flag, not necessarily confined to a specific street or area”.
This year’s TTG LGBT Conference will explore diversity in the workplace with speakers such as transgender champion Amy Stanning, from Barclays, and Stonewall’s head of private sector programmes, Vicky Hayden.
Other sessions will explore the travel habits of LGBT travellers in 2018 with new data from Gay Star News, as well as the destinations that are targeting the LGBT community.
Afternoon sessions will include new marketing tips from companies that have created LGBT marketing campaigns, including We Are Social.
The day will also see the return of the Marketplace – an extended lunch break in which suppliers can discuss their product.
