Vertical Systems appoints new MD following departure of Rob Barker

Taking the helm will be Chris North, currently sales and marketing director of the tour operating division, Instant Holidays, within The Vertical Travel Group.

North has spent 20 years in the group, and his appointment will be effective from March 29.

North said: “Having worked closely with Vertical Systems on the technology provisions for the holiday division, I am looking forward to implementing new ideas to ensure our technology remains fresh and innovative. We will continue to support our trade partners, and encourage new businesses to sample our new products and services.

Peter Healey, group chief executive, said: “Chris has always been a tremendous asset to the business and brings a wealth of experience; he is already familiar with the staff and many of our customers, so I know he will have no problem in integrating his knowledge and ideas into Vertical Systems. We all wish him well.”
