The travel agency has revealed five Spanish locations in the top 10 most booked destinations for the year to date, with Tenerife taking the top spot.

The largest of Spain’s Canary Islands, Tenerife is known for its parades, music, beaches, and resort areas, which attract both families and couples alike.

Travellers are also favouring the coastlines of Costa Blanca and Lanzarote, with these destinations rounding out the top three for 2024 bookings, as well as Majorca and Costa Del Sol.

Fuerteventura and Gran Canaria also featured in the top 10 most locations.

Famed for its delicious tapas, volcanic landscape, sheltered coves, and sandy shores, Spain has been an increasingly popular destination for the school summer holidays, with tourism significantly contributing to its economy.

In recent years, it has been consistently crowned one of the most visited countries in the world, with travellers flocking from across the UK and Europe to embrace its relaxing culture and sunny weather.

Katie Blunt, Brand and Marketing Manager at Your Co-op Travel, said: “With its glorious beaches, welcoming local communities, and tasty food, it’s not surprising to see Brits heading to Spain for their holidays this year, with Tenerife taking the crown for 2024 bookings.

“Whether you’re a young family or a couple looking to switch off from the hustle and bustle of daily life, Spain couldn’t be a better place to relax and recharge. The country typically averages over 300 days of sunshine per year, which makes it ideal for escaping one of our wettest summers on record.”
