The Royal Portfolio, a collection of hotels in South Africa owned and run by the Biden family, recently reopened its exclusive-use luxury bush villa, Africa House, in Royal Malewane in the Greater Kruger National Park, following an extensive redesign.
“Guests will fall in love with the magic and excitement that a stay at Africa House entails. The all-new Africa House redefines the accommodation balance of luxury and nature in Southern Africa,” said Simon Mandy, MD of The Royal Portfolio.
Each guest room now has its own colourway, with hues chosen to represent specific moments or memories from the bush, while the décor features original artworks by contemporary African artists such as Michael Gah and Tega Tafadzawa.
Africa House can accommodate up to 12 guests in six en-suite guest rooms, each opening on to a private deck with outdoor shower, while the communal areas include an expansive front deck, social spaces and swimming pool. The villa is situated in lush bushveld overlooking a dry riverbed crisscrossed by animal trails.
At the heart of the all-new Africa House is a courtyard and family-friendly long room with a pool table, board games and connected living and dining spaces.
There is also an outdoor boma area with a fire pit and pizza oven, along with a spa and gym.
Game drives and guided bush walks are led by a qualified guiding team, and schedules can be fully customised.
