Havila Voyages is among the first brands to be awarded the prestigious ‘Made in Norway’ trademark by Innovation Norway.
The Norwegian owned company was awarded the trademark for the government backed project following an application process that includes strict criteria regarding Norwegian origin and value creation, as well as commitments to sustainability and product quality. This ensures that the highest standards of Norwegian quality are maintained under the new origin mark, which is designed to enhance Norwegian companies’ competitiveness in the international market.
"We are extremely proud to be part of the “Made in Norway” branding scheme," says Bent Martini, CEO of Havila Voyages.
“Our company is Norwegian owned with roots from decades of Norwegian business. The Havila Group has long contributed to value creation and jobs along the Norwegian coast, which has culminated in the Havila Voyages venture. We are fortunate to be part of a coastal route tradition that spans over 130 years, showcasing the best that the Norwegian coast has to offer to tourists from both home and abroad."
"Every day on our route, we help increase business activity for our suppliers and the ports we visit. We serve locally sourced food onboard, where we work daily to reduce food waste as much as possible – because it's good for the environment and economically sensible."
"We transport passengers, both locals and tourists, from port to port for magical experiences along our beautiful coastline. The coastal communities we visit are incredibly important to our operations, and we are proud that our ownership is based here in Norway. Therefore, it was natural for us to apply for the “Made in Norway” mark," says Martini.
"It is clear to us that more travellers are seeking silence, untouched nature, and purity – things that Norway provides. With our modern, newly built ships – filled with Norwegian technology, as well as furniture and interior from Norwegian suppliers – we can offer a quiet and comfortable journey along the coast that no one else can match. This gives our passengers a truly unique experience of the Norwegian coast and our culture," concludes Martini.
