The Personal Travel Consultants in Partnership with Blue Bay Travel (PTCs) has reported a bumper start to the year with sales in January so far exceeding £2.5 million, an increase of 60 per cent on the same period in 2024.
The homeworking business also celebrated its biggest week of trading on record, with sales between 5 – 11 January 2025, totalling £1 million.
Self-generated sales, from the PTCs’ own client base, since 1 January, have doubled year-on-year and account for approximately 64 per cent of the total sales achieved. Incredibly, the business’s top seller generated over £300,000 single-handedly, with the following four top sellers billing well over £100,000 each.
Departures for the Summer 2025 season account for 50 per cent of the bookings taken so far in January but lates have also performed well with departures for the remaining Winter 24/25 season accounting for 25 per cent of the sales and bookings Winter 25/26 accounting for 20 per cent. Turkey has proved the most popular destination overall, followed by Spain (including the islands), Maldives, Mexico, Mauritius, Trinidad and Tobago and UAE. There has also been a marked increase in bookings for special trips such as Japan tours, Thailand multi-centres, Grand Prix events and Lapland, which has received bookings for 78 pax already.
The PTCs decided to shift their “Peaks” training from pre-Christmas to January this year, in a move designed to better serve the needs of their self-employed agents, many of whom opt to take time off in the quieter booking period of December to be with their families, and return post-Christmas refreshed and raring to go.
Abbie Heaton, Group Manager of The Personal Travel Consultants in Partnership with Blue Bay Travel says Abbie concluded by sharing: “We’re trading exceptionally well and are poised for considered growth in our homeworker numbers based around quality, despite some clear cost challenges which are affecting the whole industry. On agent forums, we’ve already seen numerous requests from agents looking for a change this year. We’re confident that our compelling commission structure, which see agents receive 50 per cent up front, combined with the wonderful support team we have in place that provides a real family feel and is enhanced by our new agent committee, will be very appealing to anyone considering a change. We’re excited for what 2025 holds.”
This year, the PTCs will continue to organically grow its number of homeworkers. With a focus on flexibility, strategic planning, and a dedicated team, the PTCs are well-positioned for continued success in 2025.
