The new route provides enhanced access to this captivating destination, enabling travellers to explore Da Nang’s scenic mountain landscapes and landmarks, with daily flights from Malaysia Airlines’ main hub in Kuala Lumpur.

The inaugural flight MH748 from KLIA Terminal 1 (KUL) to Da Nang International Airport (DAD) departed at 0835hrs local time amidst a vibrant send-off event. To commemorate the occasion, passengers were gifted limited-edition postcards, curated in collaboration with photographer, Acacia Diana, showcasing artistry capturing the beautiful essence of Da Nang. Operated by Boeing 737-800 aircraft, the flight carried 155 passengers, including 12 in Business Class and 143 in Economy Class.

Upon arrival at DAD at 1025hrs local time, passengers were greeted with a warm welcome event, celebrating the new connection between Malaysia and Vietnam. The return flight, MH749, departed DAD at 1125hrs and landed back in KUL at 1520hrs local time.

Ahmad Luqman Mohd Azmi, Chief Executive Officer of Airlines from Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG), expressed his enthusiasm for the new route: “We are delighted to have launched our inaugural flight to Da Nang, achieving an impressive load factor of 90 percent, reflecting strong demand for travel to this beautiful city and symbolising another significant step in our commitment to being the carrier of choice for travellers. This new service marks our third destination to Vietnam, not only enhancing connectivity but also opening doors for our passengers to immerse themselves in the natural beauty and cultural richness of Da Nang, establishing the airline as the gateway to Asia and beyond.”

With twice-daily flights from Heathrow to Kuala Lumpur and additional routes to over 50 destinations across over 20 countries, Malaysia Airlines provides an exceptional gateway to Asia and beyond. The onboard experience is elevated by the airline’s signature Malaysian Hospitality, including a 20kg baggage allowance, on-demand inflight entertainment, free Wi-Fi across all cabins and a wide range of meals inspired by iconic Malaysian flavours.
