Newmarket Holidays’ intrepid team of Account and Partnership Managers were supported by a cast of famous characters as they visited Hays Travel’s headquarters in Sunderland for a recent action-packed ‘takeover day’.

The escorted tours specialist worked with the commercial team at Hays to orchestrate a day of training and activities to celebrate the successful partnership between the two brands, thanking teams for their continued support and building awareness of Newmarket Holidays’ expanding product range.

Energy in the building was electric as the day kicked off with an Elvis impersonator performing all The King’s greatest hits, providing an entertaining nod to Newmarket Holidays’ popular US itineraries. Lapland then came to Sunderland as Santa visited with a delivery of presents celebrating the brand’s festive programmes.

A packed agenda included training and breakout activities, with an Indian lunch for the 350-strong Hays Travel team highlighting Newmarket’s range of India group tours. The focus then switched to Italy, one of the operator’s most popular destinations, with activities and prizes centred around the brand’s Italian programme.

David Sharman, Newmarket Holidays’ Chief Commercial Officer said: “We can’t thank Hays Travel enough for opening their doors and welcoming us today. It is a big commitment to facilitate a day of training across their business and we are so grateful for the opportunity. It was a brilliant day where we were able to thank people personally for all their support and build on their knowledge of Newmarket Holidays.

“Travel is all about people, and people buy from people, and this was a unique opportunity to cement that relationship between our companies. The mix of fun, celebration and training was in keeping with how we both like to conduct business and made the day a huge success.”

The framework for the day was organised by Newmarket Holiday’s team of Account and Partnership Managers and project managed by Sas Rowbotham, who commented: “We were thrilled with the opportunity to showcase our business and celebrate success. I just loved seeing everyone dancing and singing with Elvis at 8am in the morning!”
