This November, Cenizaro Hotels and Resorts invites guests to embark on a remarkable culinary experience with 'Savour the World: A Taste of Indonesia'.
Chef Lambok Tambunan, Executive Chef of The Residence Bintan, will bring the rich, authentic flavours of Indonesia to The Residence Maldives from 16–20 November 2024. Known for his dedication to traditional Indonesian cuisine, Chef Lambok combines his passion for culinary arts with over 12 years of experience, honouring the warmth and sincerity that shaped his early journey. Growing up in a modest setting, his love for cooking was inspired by cherished home-cooked meals prepared by his mother, infusing each dish with the essence of family and tradition.
Guests will have the chance to experience unique multi-course menus, crafted by Chef Lambok, featuring favourites from Rica Rica, the signature restaurant at The Residence Bintan. Highlights include "Tuna Dabu Dabu Lemong" – pan-seared tuna loin with spicy sambal dabu dabu, "Iga Bakar Madu" – grilled lamb rack with honey soy sauce, chilli salsa, and roasted garlic pumpkin, and a Nusantara Petit Four showcasing traditional desserts like Lapis legit, Dadar Gulung, Wajik, and Klepon.
“One can always rely on sincerity to remain steadfast,” stated Chef Lambok, who remains true to his roots by embracing traditional techniques and paying meticulous attention to every element he incorporates, including the use of fresh local ingredients in all his dishes.
The event also offers an exclusive private masterclass, where Chef Lambok will guide participants in creating Indonesian dishes with ingredients sourced from The Residence Maldives’ Earth Basket. Guests will learn traditional techniques and enjoy the dishes they prepare, promising an unforgettable immersion into Indonesian culinary heritage.
