TTG’s Fairer Travel Festival kicks off on Monday afternoon (1 July) with a jam-packed week of events and training ahead designed to continue our mission to champion a more inclusive and sustainable travel industry.
As part of the unmissable programme throughout July’s TTG Fairer Travel Month, the online Fairer Travel Festival (1-5 July) will connect agents with suppliers leading the way in responsible tourism.
The sessions this week are free to attend and aim to drive up standards and help the industry to become kinder – and fairer – to both the environment, the communities tourism visits and the people working within the sector.
Sessions include an in-depth discussion about what we mean about holidaying sustainably, how to choose sustainable accommodation for your clients, and advice on enjoying wildlife responsibly.
Beyond this week, events throughout TTG Fairer Travel Month include the Fairer Travel Diversity Forum (8 July) and the Fairer Travel Sustainability Forum (11 July) with both events set to be packed with practical advice and inspiring expert insight to help drive positive change within your businesses.
Speakers for the Diversity Forum include Lord David Blunkett; Onyinye Udokporo, neurodiversity consultant, author and educator; Sassy Wyatt, Blind Girl Adventures content creator and accessibility consultant; and Anna Perrott, co-founder of industry parent support group Back In Time For Bed and director of partnerships at Panache Cruises.
Speakers for the Sustainability Forum, meanwhile, include Dr Susanne Etti, Intrepid Travel’s global environmental impact manager; Miles Lockwood, director of complaints and investigations at the Advertising Standards Authority; and Jennifer McGarrigle, co-founder and CEO at sustainability consulting specialists Cyd Connects.
Travel Pride™, TTG’s unique celebration of inclusivity throughout the travel industry, also returns on 16 July in London.
Tickets for the individual Diversity and Sustainability forums are priced at £49pp, with a ticket to attend both available for £89pp. Sessions throughout the Fairer Travel Festival are free to attend.
