Not Just Travel (NJT) co-founder Paul Harrison hailed the company’s travel consultants’ “remarkable" cruise sales growth after they achieved a 25% year-on-year rise in cruise bookings in January.
In addition, the homeworking firm reported a 64% jump in cruise booking revenue last month, following a push to increase cruise sales which saw around 400 travel consultants take a cruise in the last 18 months.
Harrison said NJT is gaining a reputation for being “the best in the business for teaching franchisees how to become cruise experts”, adding that consultants would have the chance to sail with Princess Cruises and Virgin Cruises in 2024.
He said: “Although cruise is a growing sector for all travel companies, the remarkable growth shown with Not Just Travel is thanks to our incredible consultants and the investment we have made in a dedicated Cruise Division.
“This means more focus, experienced cruise experts to help our consultants, our very own dedicated cruise training, specialist marketing support and the commitment we have made to our cruise partners.”
Harrison continued: “The overall impact is that we’ve made it easier for our travel consultants to focus on, and make lucrative cruise bookings.”
One NJT agent made a £83,000 cruise booking while another cruise sale generated more £15,000 commission alone for one consultant.
Travel consultant Lynette Anderson, meanwhile, said around a third of her bookings were for cruise holidays during January.
Last year, after selling millions of pounds worth of cruises, Bolsover Cruise Club sales executive Gemma Outram joined NJT as a cruise development manager.
Harrison reported that all-holiday sales revenue and bookings were up 41% and 32% respectively last month.
“Our recent surge in cruise sales isn’t diminishing our performance in the land-based market, which is also experiencing soaring success,” added Harrison.
