Saga will expand its river fleet next year with a third new-build, Spirit of the Moselle.
Work on the ship, which will sail Europe’s waterways, got under way in January at Serbia’s Vahali shipyard.
The ship is scheduled to join Saga’s fleet in July 2025, operating alongside sister ships Spirit of the Rhine and Spirit of the Danube.
It will take design cues from both, as well as Saga’s ocean ships Spirit of Adventure and Spirit of Discovery.
Spirit of the Moselle will be able to accommodate up to 182 guests across 95 cabins, 73 of which will have French balconies.
Features include floor-to-ceiling windows, a social hub centred around the lounge and bar area, a panoramic restaurant, main dining space, sun deck and lower sun terrace.
The ship will predominantly sail the Main in its inaugural season, with itineraries taking in Nuremberg, Frankfurt, Bamberg and the Unesco-protected Rhine Gorge.
It will also sail additional Christmas and new year voyages.
Saga Cruise chief executive Nigel Blanks hailed Moselle "an exciting next step" for the line.
Saga backed away from the trade in January 2022, focusing instead on a smaller group of select agent partners.
Sister brand Titan Travel remains trade-friendly, focusing primarily on Saga’s escorted touring and overground offering.
