Abta LifeLine has called on the industry to support its latest charity day on 15 June by wearing tropical clothes or beachwear.
"Our Big Charity Day is an amazing opportunity to show your support of Abta LifeLine, the help the charity gives to our travel community, and celebrate what an amazing industry it is to be part of,” said director Trudie Clements.
The industry was also urged to donate to LifeLine, which has provided support to past and present sector members when they most needed it – including during bereavement or redundancy – for more than 30 years.
“With the cost of living crisis, we know some of our travel colleagues are having a really difficult time. Abta LifeLine continues to provide practical, emotional and financial support to those in real need,” she added.
One of its most recent beneficiaries said the charity had helped them over the winter, when many struggled to make ends meet due to the soaring costs of energy.
“I don’t know what would have happened without the support of LifeLine,” the individual said. “My mental health is slowly getting better, and this charity has played a very special part in my recovery.”
